CANCELLED: Liberation Flicks: Crip Camp Screening In-Person
n the early 1970s, teenagers with disabilities faced a future shaped by isolation, discrimination and institutionalization.
This film documents campers at Camp Jened, a summer camp for the disabled which produced many activists that went on to be major players in the disability rights movement in the decades following.
This movie shows us that radical imagination, inventive tactics, and collective power are unstoppable against oppression.
Join the Party for Socialism and Liberation and Crip Care for a film screening & discussion on Crip Camp & how we can take the lessons of the past into the movements of today.
Light refreshments and masks will be provided; space is fully wheelchair accessible.

The Party for Socialism and Liberation is a US-wide revolutionary socialist organization organizing across multiple different struggles. We are in the antiwar movement, in labor advocacy, the fight for healthcare and housing, the fight for immigrant and LGBTQ rights, the struggle against police terror and so much more.
Crip Care is a project unapologetically rooted in Disability Justice, grounded in the principles of intersectionality and collective care. Through community events, public education, and crip cultural work, Crip Care aims to celebrate and transform narratives around disabled, chronically ill, neurodivergent, mad, and deaf lives.
