Unlock the joy of fresh flavors right at your fingertips with our exciting class on growing herbs in small spaces! Whether you have a cozy kitchen window, a balcony, or a shaded corner of your home, this class is designed for urban gardeners and herb enthusiasts alike. Learn practical tips and techniques to cultivate a variety of herbs, even in low-light conditions. Discover the best pots, soil, and watering methods to ensure your herbs thrive, enhancing your culinary creations and home atmosphere. Join us to transform your space into a lush herb haven, and enjoy the satisfaction of growing your own fresh ingredients, no matter how limited your sunlight!

Giulia Gambale:
Giulia has been gardening since she was two years old, and harvesting tomatoes at her nonna’s farm in Italy. She has grown her own vegetables for 30 years.

In 2020, during the pandemic, Giulia joined 20 other women gardeners to grow food for ourselves and our community in a Mutual Aid Gardening effort. Giulia is the UConn Extension master gardener coordinator and advanced master gardener. Giulia maintains the historic herb garden at the Pardee Morris House, as well as the Adeline Street garden through the IRIS program for our refugee neighbors.
