Festive Lanterns and Traditional Chinese Toys In-Person
Create, play, and laugh with the Yale-China Teaching Fellows as they share the festive spirit of ancient Lunar New Year traditions!
· 🪀 Classic Toys Arena: Test your balancing skills with jianzi (shuttlecock kicking), Chinese yo-yo, and traditional spinning tops.
· 🏮 Lantern-Making Workshop: Create a festive Chinese paper lantern and decorate it with traditional symbols to bring luck and joy to your home.
· 🥢 Sweet Dumpling (Tangyuan) Pick-Up Challenge: Using chopsticks, race to move the plump “tangyuan” (ping pong balls) from one bowl to another. Improve your chopstick skills while learning about these sweet treats enjoyed during family reunions!
