Right to Learn & College for All Session In-Person

The Right to Learn event will be a two-hour symposium focused on education justice, student debt, and organizing for free and equitable higher education. The Debt Collective (Link to info on The Debt Collective) will facilitate the session and provide all training materials. Here’s a brief overview of the program:

  • Welcome & Introductions

  • Debtors’ Assembly & Grounding: Participants share their debt stories and reflect on how education costs impact their lives.

  • Right to Learn Overview: Exploring what the “Right to Learn” means, and reviewing guiding principles for equitable education.

  • Visioning Exercise: Collective discussion and reframing what higher education could look like if it were truly accessible.

  • College for All Training: Historical context of free college, the rise of student debt, and current policy movements.

  • Action Steps & Power Mapping: Identifying local/state opportunities for advocacy and ways to take action together.

  • Closing
