Author visit with Jim Berger In-Person
Jim Berger is a Senior Lecturer in American Studies and in English at Yale. He will present his kids' poetry book Did You Kiss A Cat Today???, cowritten by Diane Stevenson and Geri Lipschultz. Work together on a group poem, try your hand at some individual poems, and then listen to an excerpt from the book!
The authors "applied the skill and sophistication of how they write for older folks and applied it to how [they] write for younger folks. For one thing, they think children are very smart and have a very sly sense of humor. Sometimes, though, adults overlook this. ... Poetry is true and serious and fun, and that's the magic they wanted to convey."
